Caden is 9 Months Old

I am on a roll, 2 blogs in 1 week?!? You better believe it. Caden turned 9 months old this week... 9 months! I'm going to be honest, this little milestone has been a tough one for me (okay, aren't they all?). I have all kinds of emotions going through my head but the one I can't let go of is ...he is almost a year. We no longer have a baby, we have a little boy, who by the way IS ALL BOY! So, one of my good friends post a letter to her sweet, adorable little man on her blog each month (http://billandcristin.blogspot.com/) and I loved the idea! So, I am copying it and going to start one for Caden! So here it is...starting at 9 months but oh well!

Caden William,

Happy 9 months little man! I can't believe you are 9 months old...the time has gone so fast and you have had such a full life so far! This month started out a little hard, Papa Bud went home to be with Jesus on January 10th. He loved you very much and the 8 months he got to spend with you he won your heart over! You adored him! Every time you saw him you would smile from ear to ear and would laugh and play with him. He was so proud of you and told you that every time he saw you. He loved you very much. I wrote some memories and fun times down that you and Papa Bud had and one day I will share them with you. But for now we will just continue to talk about him and look at pictures every day! You were a little trooper during all the crazy times. All your aunts and uncles were so great to help out with you and you played with Aunt Candace and your buddy Logan for a week and you even went and stayed with Aunt Danielle. You are so blessed to have so many people that love you and love to care for you! You were a trooper, you were passed back and forth and moved all around but you took your naps and ate where ever you were that day!

You are crawling and pulling up all the time! You LOVE to be on the go. You don't like us to hold and cuddle you very often but when you let us it's precious! I had to wean you this month but you were totally okay with that, you were done with the whole nursing thing! You have three bottles a day, one in the morning when you get up, one after your afternoon nap and one at bed time. Now that I am not nursing you, your daddy and I fight over who will give you your bottle and put you to bed. It's one of our favorite times with you! You usually fall asleep in our arms so we cuddle you for awhile! You are just precious!

You have several things that you just love to do (and we usually do them every day)...In the mornings (or anytime you get up from a nap) you have three pacis, one in your mouth and one in each hand. We have been trying to get you away from them unless you are sleeping so when we get you out of bed you know to drop one from each hand and and then let the one in your mouth fall out and then you wave (yes, a new trick this month) bye-bye to them! It's adorable! You learned to roll the ball this month. You LOVE to roll it back and forth to us, you can play this game for 20 minutes at a time! You love little cars, you roll and crawl all over the floor with them. You like to have three small toys while you are crawling, one in your mouth and one in each hand. You love for us to be on the ground playing with you. You also love to roll over us while we are laying down. Your daddy taught you a new trick called "Bonk". He gets in a crawling pose and says "bonk" and you crawl over to him and hit his forehead. It's pretty cute I must admit but now any time you see little kids crawling you think they want to play "bonk" and you crawl over to them and hit their head. Unfortunately a lot of babies don't like this and you make them cry. Another thing you started liking this month was "dance parties" thank goodness it is just you and I (and sometimes daddy if we have a family dance party) but we turn up country music (got to start you right) and dance, well I dance and you shake your head and then laugh at me. You love to chase me and if daddy is holding you chasing me you think it's so funny, you laugh so hard every time. You still love your bath time each day, we feel bad if you have to miss it, it's like taking your favorite thing away from you! You got to play in the snow for the first time. You loved it at first and then you ate it and put your head in it and got cold and you were done! But it was still fun! You also learned how to climb the stairs this month! You are always learning something new...that's one thing I love about you - you conquer one thing and you are ready to learn something else! Your very newest thing is standing-you have started letting go of things and just standing for a few seconds before you grab back on your sit down. You my little man are one passionate person-I pray your passion continues for your entire life, you will do great things with your determination.

You say a few words: "addie", "Hi", "da-da", "ma-ma", "yay". I am not sure you know what you are saying but you say those words a lot. Your very first word was "addie", Grans little doggy. You love her and she kind of likes you unless you pull her hair! You love people. Anytime we are in Target or at a restaurant you talk to all the people and say "hi"....well you don't really say hi you more like scream it with a big ole smile on your face.

You're a great eater - you like just about everything. You eat baby food, big boy food, or just whatever we are eating that meal. Your favorite foods are yogurt and cheese. You LOVE those two things like no ones business. You will eat 2 sticks of cheese at one meal if I will let you, but I've only done that once while I was trying to cook. You also eat all fruits and veggies. You aren't picky at all -I pray that continues!

You got 2 new teeth this month so you have a total of 4 cute teeth. You are getting one or two more up on top, I can't tell, you won't let me look at all!

You are quite the traveler. This month we started out in Oklahoma and stayed there for a while and then we went back up to visit Gran for a few days. We also went to Houston with Aunt Abs and Karsten to visit Aunt Shan, Reid, Matt and little baby boy E on the way! We had a great time. You loved playing with big boy Reid and little Miss Karsten! You were awesome on the plane rides too! You were so excited when you saw daddy at the airport-you wouldn't come back to me so daddy could get the bags!

We started a Kindermusik class this month. You like it but you like it on your own terms. You are not all about me holding you and singing and doing stuff with you....nope, you like to get right off my lap and crawl to the middle of the circle and then go play with all the other kids. You love all the little musical instruments they hand out and you are not always ready to put them away when the song is over. It's a fun little activity that keeps me on my toes and you get some social time!

I say this at every age/stage but this one is my favorite! You are so much fun! Yes, you are everywhere but I love that! I love that you want to learn and try new things! I love playing funny games with you and you laughing so hard you can't catch your breath! I love that you know my voice and you look at me when I say your name. I love that each time your dad or I walk in the room you crawl away from what ever toy you have and come straight to us with a big smile on your face! I love that you help me unload the dishwasher each morning by putting each spoon, fork, knife in your mouth and then on the floor! I love that you want to be apart of everything! I even love that your throw a fit for things....okay that's going to have to stop soon but it's pretty adorable when you are sitting crying and throwing your hands in the air! Bottom line, you are so much fun at this age! I am sure it will only get better but this is my new favorite stage because you are just so gosh darn fun!

You, my little man, are the light in our day. When we walk in to get you each morning you smile from ear to ear and say "hi" and scream with Joy and our day is made! God has blessed us more then we could ever put into words with you. We lay in bed at night, every night, and talk about how cute and fun you are. We talk about all God has in store for you and your full of life personality! We talk about the funny things you did that day, we talk about how we never knew it was possible to love some one so much. We talk about how you are not our little baby anymore...you are our little man! You have such a fun personality and it's truly a blast and an honor to watch you bloom each and every day.

Happy 9 months Caden William. I love you dearly!
