Kinley Elizabeth - 18 months

Dear Kinley,
  Happy half birthday my sweet little girl! You are a year and a half old today!  That seems impossible to me.  Where did the time go?!?  This is a whole new ball game for me because when your brother was this age you had just been born and I had a new baby.  This time around, no baby, not even a baby on the way!  You entered our life at such a perfect time, but right now I am so thankful that you are still my baby and my time can be spent loving on you and your bubba!  So, you will continue to be my only baby for many more months!  I love this age.  You think you are as big as your bubba but I am keeping you as a baby so I pretend like you aren't as old as you are :).
You love, love, love to play with bubba; he makes you laugh like no one else can.  You adore him, you try to do whatever he is doing and I must say you are pretty darn good at keeping up with him.  You have the sweetest spirit and your little voice and laugh just melts our hearts!  You have all kinds of words, you can repeat what we say but a lot of times you prefer to just point and grunt.  That usually works because bubba holds up several things until you decide that's what you want.  You love for people to ask you questions, you are so serious and concerned about what they are saying and you love to shake your head "Yes" or "No".  You are starting to get into baby dolls and its pretty dang cute, you rock them, pat them, put them in the highchair and feed them or take them on a stroller ride.  All is well as long as bubba isn't around, if he's playing with you he will just do it for you and you chase him around trying to get what you want.
You still love your momma but you are making all kind of new friends and you love playing with kids your age, older or younger.  We have friends of all ages and you just seem to enjoy them all!  You think you are as big as the older kids and often end up just chasing behind them and forcing your way into their "circle", even if they don't notice you, you still have a great time.
We just finished kindermusic up a couple of weeks ago, you loved it a first but then you got a little bored with it.  You go to bubba's little gym class and get to play at the end and you LOVE it so I think we will do that next.  We actually just had bubba's third birthday at The Little Gym,  Gran and Miss Janice decided you had the best time of all the kids there!  You participated in all the activities and did what the teacher said to do.  You can even do a somersault!  I think gymnastics is in your future!
I would list everything you love but you pretty much love everything UNLESS you are tired, then it's all over :).  You are an awesome sleeper and sleep from about 6:30pm - 8:30am in the morning, however the last few days you have been sleeping until 10!  You take between a 2-3 hour nap most days.  Everyone tells me how lucky I am to have such an awesome sleeper (and I am thankful) but the truth is, you need it.  You are a lot like your mommy when you are tired...you don't handle things well and things push you over the edge way too easy.
You still adore your daddy and it's so special.  He melts everyday watching you. You have a special place in his heart and you are so sweet with him.  We all said he needed a little girl.  You bring out such a sweet, tender, sensitive side in him.  The girl drama (which has already started) is new for him and he acts like it is ridiculous but I know deep down he likes it!  You fell the other day at the park and scrapped your knee, for as tough as you are you would have thought you broke your leg!  You wouldn't walk, you kept looking at it crying and needing it kissed.  So it's now been 10 days and anytime you see it you need one of us to kiss it.  I've had to put pants on you just so you won't see it and be able to go about the day.  I am sure that is just the beginning of drama but it's already in full force!
You also still love your Gran.  When you see her you whine and point at her until she holds you.  You know her car, her driveway, and when the phone rings and her picture pops up you take it and say "Gran, Gran".    You go to her from anyone, even your mommy!  You love her jewelry and of course she takes off whatever you want and lets you wear it. Your Gran keeps you dressed in the latest fashion and you are always getting compliments on how cute you look, I always say, "thanks to her Gran".  She loves you so much and loves to see and play with you!
Well little miss, you continue to light up our world!  Your sweet little spirit just melts our hearts and we are so thankful for you.  You and your bubba are our dream come true and we are so thankful for the blessing of being your parents.  You will never know how much we love you and how much you make us complete!  Things get crazy at times and my patience runs thin but at the end of the day I would never, ever change anything!  You both are perfect and were born at the perfect time!  You have shown me the blessing of a little girl and you have made my heart explode with love and thankfulness.  I love you so much and I am so excited to watch you continue to grow into a little girl. Never lose your tenacity, never lose your strong spirit, never lose your love for everyone around you and never lose that sweet spirit that draws people to you!  You are going to make such a difference in this world Kinley, stay strong and know that I love you and am honored to be your momma!
